Emily Anne Loves to play in the sand

She loves to climb high in the trees

She plays with the energy most children have

The kind of energy adults could only wish for in their dreams

She has confidence and ambition I admire

She possessed these qualities before she was even born

And she won’t ever allow anyone to take this away from her

Because she knows

She must possess these qualities if she wants to remain strong

She is smart

She is sweet

She is funny

She makes me smile every time she walks into a room

But there are times she is mischievous and moody

And I’ll wonder what she has done with her broom

Emily Anne is a beautiful child

With her big brown green eyes

And her tiny button nose

I love her precious little smile

And how she still runs around on the tips of her toes

She is a little girl who has her life ahead of her

She doesn’t realize she will be my age in the blink of an eye

And when she is

She’ll look back at old pictures and wonder

How could that much time have possible past her by

But for now she is an energetic five year old

Going to school

Learning more each day

And loving with the true heart of a child

Who believes every moment she’s awake is an opportunity to sing and play

Emily Anne loves to play in the sand

She loves to climb high in the trees

And she was put on this earth to remind me

That true love doesn’t only exist in our dreams
